26 RECAP LOVELINESS OF OCTOBER

January 22, 2024

OUR TOP BOOKS

  • John – D. Foenkinos
  • Lennon – Cynthia Lennon
  • Limitless – Jim Kwik
  • The Lying Life of Adults – Elena Ferrante
  • The Psychology of Money – Morgan Housel
  • Poppies in October – Laura Riñón
  • Let My People Go Surfing – Yvon Chouinard
  • The Fugitive – Sergio Ramírez
  • Untamed – Glennon Doyle

OUR TOP SERIES

  • The Bear – OMG, one of the best series we’ve ever watched. It keeps you constantly on edge, follows the rhythm of the characters, and it’s super interesting to discover what happens in a restaurant that bears many similarities to other work industries.
  • The Lovers – Ideal to watch after The Bear, it’s fantastic. The poster doesn’t do justice to the true theme of the series.
  • Once upon a Time in Northern Ireland – It’s always interesting and enriching to explore different versions and perspectives of the conflict in Northern Ireland.
  • Beckham – A very well-produced marketing series that takes you through Beckham’s journey.
  • Barcelona Dates – A mini-series to pass the time, although there were 2 episodes that I liked quite a bit because they show the complexity of romantic encounters.
  • Sex Education – The season I liked the most was the first; we’ve reached the end, and it had things I liked, but others not so much.

OUR TOP PODCASTS – SPOTIFY

  • La Pinch3 Complejidad – We love that this podcast provides different perspectives on various topics. This month, our favourite episode was about the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
  • En Boca Cerrada – This podcast has brought me a lot of sadness and reflection; this case has been very intense, full of so many versions that it’s important to listen to each one with caution and compassion.
  • Lo Más Odiado – I love Alberto Olmos and Soto-Ivars; they seem among Spain’s best reflective minds today. It’s a shame they don’t upload content more frequently.
  • The Blindboy – I enjoy listening to the Irish accent on this podcast. He always tackles very relevant topics.
  • Slo Mo: A Podcast with Mo Gawdat – I listen to Mo’s interviews because there are always things that can be applied in everyday life; the variety of guests makes it more enriching.
